Wii Head Tracking = Looks Pretty Amazing

The Nintendo Wii has been subject to more than a few hacks to use the hardware for everything from PC control to motion tracking. It’s turned out to be a pretty flexible and dynamic piece of equipment for all sorts of things. Here’s a pretty amazing video I found of a guy who has managed to rig up a head tracking system that adjusts the perspective to create a nifty 3D illusion.
I can see a couple limitations with this. First, you can only do it with one person at a time and secondly, there’s motion but no eye-to-eye 3D illusion. The second one could be remedied with a pair of 3D stereoscopic glasses, which already exist, up until now the stereoscopic experience has been only so-so because of the lack of motion-based perspective. But in any case, even without stereoscopic, what this guy has going is pretty damn amazing. I WANT ONE!
