This is definately not a “Ghost”..

Amazing what some people will immediately think is supernatural. Amazing what will get a local news channel out to a location. Here’s a video of a “ghost” caught on video at a gas station. Some say it’s an angel and others say it’s a ghost from an old Native American burial ground.

As for me, I’m going to say: Something which is out of focus because it’s right on the glass of the camera housing. I’m thinking a bug. It’s a gray-ish blue, although you can never be sure of the color saturation on a video camera like that, and this leads me to think it’s likely a moth. Yes, a moth. A brightly lit gas station would probably attract moths. And they have a tendency to stay around lights for a while before leaving. Have you ever seen a bunch of moths around a light fixture on a wall? I have. It’s likely that the moth settled on the camera and then left after some time.

Alternatively, it could be another bug of some type or even a drop of water, although I doubt that because it seems to move up. Of course, we don’t know whether or not the glass that the camera looks out of is slanted one way or the other and whether there might have been a breeze pushing it. A blue drop of water? Perhaps someone flung their little windshield squeegee a bit hard?

In any case, it’s definitely something on the lens or camera housing.

No wonder “ghost” sightings are so common when this is all people need to be convinced of paranormal activity!

Also, people are stupid.

It is very out of focus, yes, but it looks a lot like a but to me, just the way it moves and the shape seems like a thorax at times. It also seems at one point like it moves the wings. It looks like it’s probably a moth.

I vote for bug as well and probably a moth. Look at the place in the beginning and you’ll see it’s all fluorescent lighting. That attracts moths like nothing else. I bet if you looked around the place would have them stuck on all the upper surfaces. I can’t believe they say “It’s on this car’s windshield..” clearly it’s closer to the camera which is why it has a two-dimensional kind of look to it.

Oh one other thing: When the reporter is on the security camera you look at her dress and it looks purple to almost blue. Then she walks inside the place and you can see it’s plain red with no blue or purple shading.

Clearly the color on the camera is not 100% accurate so it is likely not that color exactly.

Well yeah. We already knew that. It sure as hell ain’t a ghost anyway. It ain’t a news story either, but it must have been a slow day.

‘Tis no more a ghost than it is a moth. What we have here is clearly a Vorlon.

Youtube’s Captain Disillusion did a wonderful job of explaining this one for the kiddies. He’s only got 9 vids so it shouldn’t be too hard to find if you search for his name.

At first I thought it was a piece of plastic bag that somehow got stuck to the lens, but pieces of plastic bags don’t crawl on lenses like bugs. At any rate, this is certainly not news, and it’s a shame that major news outlets even report on nonsense such as this.

Too dense to be a ghost – much like the people who think it is.
