Sylvia Browne’s Economic Predictions for 2008

January 3rd, 2009

Share

Now that the Montel Williams Show is no longer being filmed we won’t be privy to this spectical anymore, but at the end of each year, Sylvia Browne, a self-proclaimed psychic would issue her predictions for the next year.   Last year I noted that her predictions for 2007 were very very wrong.   However, it seems her predictions for 2008 are, believe it or not, even worse.

Now that the year 2008 is over, we can look back and laugh at just how amazingly, ridiculously wrong she was.

2008 was a year with a large number of economic news stories but she missed every single one of them.   She said the job market would improve (it got worse.) and also that the auto industry would improve dramatically due to the introduction of hybrid vehicles.

Predicting the introduction of hybrid vehicles by US automakers is certainly not difficult because by the end of 2007 there were already hybrids on the market and their market-share was improving. While hybrids continue to gain in popularity they have not turned around the auto market.

US auto-makers are still retooling for hybrid production. GM’s first next-generation hybrid is slated for introduction in 2010. Ford hopes to expand hybrid production in 2009 and introduce plug-in hybrids in 2010 or 2010. Chrysler expects to produce electric drivetrain vehicles within the next five to seven years.

No expansion or change in fortunes in 2008, that is for sure.  She completely missed the dramatic and worldwide slump in the economy.  Medical stocks have done no better than other stocks and many have done worse.

Robert S. Lancaster continues in his recovery from the stroke he suffered this past summer.   Of course, we all wish him the best.

Funny and shows what a fraud she is, but anyone with a brain in their head should have seen through her a LONG LONG time ago.

The predictions for the next year are not as bad as some stuff she does. What bothers me is when she goes after people who are in a situation where they have a child or loved one missing. She pretends to be able to give them clues to find them and charges them money. That is especially bad, because I usually think that it’s fools who go to people like this, but I could see how a mother of lost child or something might go for it. Think about it, if you were despirate to try anything to find your child, you had not slept in days, you thought about it constantly. Or if you lost a loved one and were in anguish. Psychics prey on those people who are emotionally weak from a tragic loss.

Four husbands, several charges of investment fraud and grand theft and a slap-down from British broadcasting legislators , and still this dizzy bitch gets airtime. You gotta wonder.

Nice video. Some people have claimed it was proof that she is psychic that she predicted accurately that Obama would be the next president. They forget that she was saying it at a time when he was one of only three or four viable candidates and she therefore had a good chance of being right just by guessing.

Also, I think she tells people predictions that they want to hear. She says that the job market will imrpove to get approval. What if she said Obama would not win? She’d get an argument. She’s talking to Montel. Montel = Obama supporter and also obviously he’s black. So seriously, what else would she say?

This just goes to show she misses more than she hits.

Anyone who is still a believer in ms. Browne at this point is not going to be swayed and is beyond all hope. Monty made a fool of himself having her on his show though. I guess his show is over now but still if he ever wants to do anything like being a news corespondent or writing articles or anything, this hurts him. His credibility is shot to hell and that limits his options.

Sylvia doesn’t look like she’s in the best health lately. Maybe the old hag will croak. If so, then I’ll say good riddance.

Thanks. That was a typographical error, not a standard misspelling.

Hey Doc, if you can find a way to get this bloke’s (Daniel Normandeau) clients to turn up here, you might find some interesting reactions to this page, which he has already stated that he endorses.

Yeah, I was going to take it down as spam, but the site doesn’t look too bad in terms of spam (popups or sexual potency pills or anything) and hell, I’ll consider it an endorsement, even though it was likely either a bot or someone who never bothered even looking at the vid or the page.
