Some may have noticed that there have been less posts in the past couple of days than normal.  Well, there have been some computer problems with the Depleted Cranium master system which has caused the page to be administered from the auxiliary system.   Basically the computer kept booting and would seem to work but randomly freeze before getting to the OS.

The Bios seemed okay.  The ram test went fine.   The drives all checked out.   But upon checking out the motherboard it seemed that there was something very bad going on with the power supply connector which had smoked and partially melted on a few pins.   It might have been that the standoffs were not enough and the contacts touched the chassis?   It’s not really known.   But surprisingly after being taken apart and a new power supply fitted the system seems to work find.   Good thing because it’s easy to see how such a smoked connection would indicate damage to the motherboard.

The only damage was melted plastic on the connector which had to be filed off to get the new PSU plug to fit.   And all of this has nothing to do with Tucker, the Terrier-Chihuahua mix who is second in command at DC and who was assessing the situation and can be seen in the background of the image.
