Interesting perspective on nuclear energy…

So I was on the Greenpeace website today. I had been looking to find out how I could get them to send me a donation mailer with a prepaid envelope (which I intended to send back to them full of lead shot and a letter telling them it was a donation of material to help shield them from the scary radiation.) In the process I stumbled onto their discussion forum. Their forum seems to be unmoderated – unlike their blog where my comments, even the diplomatic ones never get approved. The forum does not have a “nuclear energy” section but it does have a “nuclear weapons” section, which is where some nuclear energy topics are discussed as it is the closest section they have…kinda.
This thread actually surprised me in that it had people posting who basically supported nuclear energy. A few people had concerns about waste which I thought were inflated. But only one poster had anything wholly negative to say…
jacob3569: im not a fan of nuclear power, it is bad
thank you.
Well… it is to the point… kinda. Based on nothing… but… ya know. I personally am not a fan of the boogie man cuz he’s bad…. and stuff…

Well I’m just cynical enough to think that Greenpeace lets a few nuclear-positive comments go just to create the illusion that they are letting both sides get their say, that or the moderator hoped the first poster would get raked over the coals.
At any rate the con artists at Greenpeace, Friends of the Earth, and Earth First and the cretins that follow them won’t be coming around to commonsense anytime soon.

Sending them a letter full of lead shot is a terrible idea! I can see why you would want prepaid because if you are over the limit for a single letter then you’d have to pay a fee, but don’t you know that it will just go back to them! I did volunteer work for charities collecting money for the environment and the envelopes they send out they can afford to prepay because their account is only charged if you send it! But they will pay more! So it’s not a good thing to do at all. I think they would much rather have money than lead even if it does protect from radiation. If you want to send them that pay yourself and don’t just hurt them!

Sustainability, your grasp of the subtleties at work here and your penetrating analysis is positively breathtaking.
It’s crystal clear to me now that Greenpeace would much rather have money than lead shot.
I don’t know how you do it.

That was kinda the point. The lead would violate the maximum weight for a first class stamp by enough to make it cost them quite a bit. That’s exactly the point. That was always the point. It’s sarcasm. The point is also to charge them money.

DV82XL, you didn’t get the note? “Mother of God” is sooo last millenium – she’s getting much better acceptance with the newtag, in areas like Republican primaries and multiple choice quizzes, as “Nun of the Above”.

That’s rather typical of the Usual Suspects. They cannot grasp that there’s a difference between munitions and utilities. Until they can demonstrate that they can truly separate them in their mind, nothing they say can be taken seriously.
