One of the well known beauty pageants is the “Miss Teen America” pageant, which is supposed to find the most lovely and beautiful young woman in the US. But in order to make it not look like a completely objectifying meat-market, they have such things as questions for these young ladies to answer. Just the same, I have a very strong hunch that the more intellectual aspects of the contestants…. isn’t…. very heavily weighted.. either that, or Miss South Carolina comes from a state with something of a problem with education… and breeding…

Here she responds to a question about Americans’ knowledge of geography.

Miss South Carolina came in as the “Third Runner-Up” or in 4th place. She’s absolutely estatic though, because she is under the impression that that is just like first place only four times better. (Nobody had the heart to tell her otherwise.)

I have to give her props, though. She does the whole “Really huge mouth smile with unnaturally shiny and white teeth” thing pretty well. And the “For our children” thing is an excellent final touch.
