Fairness and Acuracy in Reporting is Neither…

It just goes to show that labeling something “Fairness and Accuracy” does not make it fair and sure as hell does not make it accurate. This should surprise nobody because it has been tried before since the Holy Roman Empire (which was not holy, Roman or an Empire). However this article just steams me up like few things can. It is full of the standard bull about how nuclear energy actually causes global warming (yeah, because we all know that it takes so much energy to build a power plant, unlike windmills). It continues to say that we’re running out of high grade uranium ore “with substantial amounts of U-235″ – actually all uranium ore has the same isotopic composition – or is very close.
It turns out that the author, Karl Grossman has made his career out of bashing nuclear and then claiming to have been censored. A champion of free speech, constantly censored and fighting to expose evil nuclear.. or so he will tell you. This scumbag claims that nuclear energy is everything from a conspiracy of big governments to the claim that he is being targeted by the evil forces that be.
Honestly, it’s just too late in the day for me to tackle this one, but I’d suggest going to NEI Nuclear Notes to check out their very well written refutation of this crap.

The idea works only as long as you don’t analyze it to any extent. “natural good” is a shallow concept but it has a nice ring to it if you don’t think too hard.
I never understood the idea anyway. Humans are organisms and we build stuff and make substances the same as anything else. There is the idea that beeswax is good but kevlar is evil because one is made by non-humans and the other by humans. It’s all the same though. natural stuff can be very dangerous and nasty in general.
