A Lying Psychic? Who woulda thunk?

A dishonest psychic?   Who could have ever predicted that?   (perhaps another psychic?)

Yes, of course that is sarcasm.
Via the Hartford Current:

Police: psychic lied about attack

GREENWICH, Conn. – A Connecticut psychic who says she was assaulted in an attack she believed was arranged by rival psychics has been charged with lying about the incident.

Greenwich police arrested 35-year-old Janet Lee of Norwalk on Saturday on charges including falsely reporting an incident.

Lee, who promotes herself the “foremost psychic in New England,” called police on July 11 to report that a man had beaten her outside her Greenwich office. She said she believed rival psychics in town who had left her threatening phone messages were responsible, but she did not know their names.

Greenwich police say there were inconsistencies in Lee’s story, and they believe she may have been assaulted in Norwalk by someone she knew.

Lee’s attorney says his client stands by her story.

I guess she just didn’t see that one coming when she made the statement! It may have been a ploy for attention or publicity, but it seems to have backfired.

Since this is a generally non-violent offense, chances are that Miss Lee will be out on bail. That being the case, you should still be able to contact her for a psychic reading. (should you want to) According to her website, she will do a phone reading for just two hundred US dollars.

The sad thing is that she will probably get community service and a fine or something and then after that she’ll go back to work in her dishonest little psychic buisiness and scam people just like before and nobody will care that she is convicted of lying to police and falsely reporting an incident. These people cna be outed and shamed as much as you want and people still go to them.

Being a “psychic” means lying to people who trust you, people in the most grief-stricken states of mind and taking money from the weakest. It’s such dishonesty that it attracts those who are basically pathological liars and will say anything. Lying to the police is unwise, that is for sure, but these people lie so much and it’s habitual and they don’t even stop to think that maybe they shouldn’t lie to someone. For them, what they say is what serves them and they get used to getting away with it.
